Well Tiny Tim wasn’t exactly rock & roll but he received national attention with appearances on “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In”. The novelty hit “Tip-Toe Thru The Tulips With Me” would make it in to the top twenty on the singles chart in the summer of 1968. Born Herbert Khaury , Tiny died on this date in 1996 performing Tiptoe at a benefit concert in Minneapolis at the age of 66

On this date in 1958 Sam Cooke and Lou Rawls are injured in an auto accident while on tour together. Their chauffer is killed. If something would of happened to one of them, the classic ” Bring It On Home” from 1962 would not of happened. The song features Sam Cooke on vocals and Lou Rawls backing vocals.
